Attention all drivers!
The U.S. Supreme Court has just ruled that police no longer have the same authority to search your car after they arrest you.
Now, I like police. They are there to serve and protect, but sometimes bad apples come along and we as citizens need to serve and protect each other. One way to do that is through educating ourselves about new laws that pass like this.
So, now if you get hand-cuffed and are taken away from your vehicle, the police have no right to go back and search your car. In my modest opinion I believe this legislation is more aligned with the, "innocent until proven guilty" concept that is so embedded in the U.S. legal system.
