Do you like listening to new music?
Do you feel that the internet is too intimidating to find new stuff and sometimes you just don't want to put up with it?
Are you also frustrated that your city (i'm talking about Vancouver, personally speaking) doesn't publicize upcoming cool shows enough so by the time you do find out it's already happened?
Well then Hype Machine is totally for you.
In a nutshell Hype Machine keeps track of what music bloggers write about and then they handpick a set of kickass music blogs for your enjoyment. Finally, they present what these music bloggers post and talk about and they post it in an easy to consume format. This way, your odds of stumbling into awesome music or awesome blogs are high, like super duper high.
The added bonus is that no matter where you are in the world, Hype will post up and coming concerts in your area. This feature really does it for me. I feel that after living in Vancity for 5ish years, they do have a lot cool acts that come to town, but they usually do a horrible job of promoting that crap.
Then after you check out which concerts are in town you can listen to them and decide whether they are worth seeing.
Oh ya, other cool things you can do:
-Save your favorites for an ultra cool up-to-date playlist for your friends to be envious of.
-Listen to the latest stuff they just put on or just hear the stuff that everyone else is interested in (the "Popular" section).
-I've also been told that if you click on the link and follow it to where the original music was posted, you can save it as an Mp3 for you to have always and forever.

Seriously, after this explanation if you still aren't interested in hype machine, then i'm not really interested in you. Just sayin'.
