RIAA will stop sueing people for downloading music just in time for the Holiday season.

The Recording Industry Association of America (or RIAA) is a trade group that represents the major labels of the recording industry in the U.S.A. Its members consist of a large number of private corporate entities such as record labels and distributors, which the RIAA claims "create, manufacture and/or distribute approximately 90% of all legitimate sound recordings produced and sold in the United States." The RIAA was created in 1952, but ever since the inter-web came about, they've been super busy sueing everyone left right and center (about 35,000 lawsuits presently).

But not anymore. RIAA says it will finally end the legal assault against consumers that began back in 2003. So, individuals who download stuff appear to be safe for the moment, phew!

Downloaders UNITE!
