Today at noon, Barack Obama was sworn in as President of the United States.
Many woke up as early as 3am to stand on the National mall in order to save a spot to see his historic inauguration.
I, myself woke up at 6am and by 7am, everywhere within eyesight of the White house was packed.
It was freezing outside, people were jammed into small outside spaces, but that didn't matter. The consensus was mutual amongst all the viewers, this was a great day in American history.
The exact number of people who attended the Inauguration but at 12pm CNN had reported over 1 million on the National Mall.
Here are some great videos from a citizens perspective that show the chaos and the events that ensued.
