Quick rant: Osama's death and the illusion of terrorism

Osama bin Laden has been killed...and everyone thinks terrorism is dead? Oh, on the contrary.
First off, I think it is mighty hypocritical of the U.S. to "defend" freedom and democracy and yet assassinate Osama without a fair trial. I'm sure he would be guilty but to just kill him and then publicize it as the humane thing to do is just ludicrous. And the reason it is such is because if you kill the most the leader terrorist of a terrorist group, do you think that the rest of the extremists are just going to surrender...I think not. This will just add fuel to the fire.
This will just give the older generation of extremists a reason to teach their kids to be extremists because they believe their devine leader was unjustly killed.
Wouldn't we as Americans do the same if a nation, group, or even individual killed our most respected leader?
I am not in any way defending the actions of Osama bin Laden, I'm just pointing out we are no safe today than we were yesterday or before or after 9/11 at that.
If we continue to fight a war against an ideology we can only guarantee and endless war with millions of casualities and I for one do not want any more bodies piling up. No more civilian deaths on either side and no more soldier deaths on either side either.
We as a nation need to take a step back and protect our own people as they face adversity in the name of natural disasters, poverty, and crime within our borders.
We are not united as a nation if we keep fighting a faceless enemy in the name of combating "terrorism."

Ok, rant over.
