What feminism means to me

women + men =. (translation, women and men are equal period)

That is my definition of feminism and if you are a believer in equality amongst the sexes then you are a feminist as well. However, in lieu of Ms. Sarah Palin disgracing the term "feminist" I must sift through her doublespeak and clarify a couple things that really ruffle my feathers (translation - make me mad):

1) Ms. Sarah Palin does not answer questions effectively, to say the least. And when she feels attacked she immediately pulls the, "don't you question me, look I'm a woman here" card. First, you are making women look bad by not answering questions. Second, do not use your gender as a scape goat for not answering questions. If you don't know the answer to a question the only acceptable thing to say is, "I don't know" not "Don't question my (vague) opinions, I'm a woman!"

2) Some people (mostly extreme conservatives) claim that women who don't vote for McCain/Palin, are not supporting feminsim. I can't even begin to describe what an inaccurate statement that is.
First, you sure did keep your mouths shut about feminism when Hillary was running for the presidency.
Second, not voting for a woman does not mean you are NOT a feminist. Actually doing research on the candidates and realizing what Palin stands for should make you realize that Obama is more of a feminist then Palin will ever be.
