High heels: friend or frenemy?

High heels are sexy, its true.
They make women look more graceful and it forces them to clench their leg muscles so their legs look great too.
However, high heels suck. They are usually expensive, always uncomfortable and we can't even walk correctly because of them.

I was determined to look cute and professional so I bought some heels. I'm also short so I wanted to give myself a boost, literally.

Then, I googled, "how to walk in high heels," and the answers I got were disappointing.

Basically, all the advice is summed up below:
*Take small steps and swing your arms for balance (i.e. look like an idiot).
*Do not walk long distances or do anything active (i.e. become helpless and isolated from reality).
*Avoid cobblestones, uneven pavement, grass, mud, etc. (i.e. you cannot go anywhere)

This news upset me because I wanted to be confident in my heels but I was left thinking its not worth it. I wanted to look cutesy professional and have a powerful womanly edge to me. This cannot be accomplished when I wear heels.

So, does beauty really equal pain?

OMG banani I seriously need to catch up on your blog and I'm doing it now from Raglan, New Zealand (surfing town where "The Endless Summer" was filmed-- boo ya!) but geez this entry is HILARIOUS!!! I FUCKING hate high heels! I'm too tall. And I can never get comfortable or break them in. They say that shoes like Manohlos and Jimmy Choos are crazy high and extremely comfortable, an anomaly that costs at LEAST $400. What bullshit. Boycott high heels!!!
