Every person is invited to write a message addressed to the future inhabitants of Earth! Seriously!

Oh, humans, why ya gotta be so silly?

I remember in grade school we wrote letters to our future selves and put them in a time capsule. We got them 4 years later and read them to see what we were thinking back then. The UN, UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization) just voted to have a time capsule launched into space only to come back in the future!

KEO is the name of a proposed space time capule which will be launched in 2010 or 201 carrying messages from the citizens of the present to humanity 50,000 years from now, when it will reenter Earth's atmosphere.

HERE'S THE FUN PART FOR YOU!

YOU CAN WRITE A LETTER TO THE FUTURE!

Every person is invited to write a message addressed to the future inhabitants—the deadline is December 31, 209. Don't rush, you got some time.

Messages can be posted via the project's website .

The organizers encourage everybody to participate so that every culture and demographic on Earth is represented. Considering more then half the world lives on less than a dollar a day, I'm not sure they'll get the memo.

The satellite has enough capacity to carry a four-page message from each of the more than six billion inhabitants on the planet. Once the satellite is launched, the messages (with personal names removed) will be made freely available on the web.

What will you write?
