Looks like everyone has their hand in the govermnet cookie jar. Governors ask the feds for more money. You know what they say, Mo' money mo' problems!

Forty-eight governors met with President-elect Barack Obama today to press their case for a federal package to help them weather the U.S. recession that began in December 2007. U.S. governors will ask that any federal stimulus plan for the states include as much as $100 billion in aid to help cover the swelling costs of social services.

Social Services, what social services? With no socialized medicine, education through the roof, and social security down the tubes, I don't see no stinking social services!

I suggest simply raising taxes on multi-million corporations that are better off than most anyway. Currently the U.S. demands lower tax from Corporations then most other countries. John McCain said that fact was good because it made doing business in the States more attractive. However, it didn't work because most U.S. corporations relocated most of their manufacturing operations to third world countries where the taxes are also more appealing for CEOs.
Read the whole thing here.

Mo' money more problems is what it sounds like to me. Going against simply economic principles has been driving the U.S. into a downward spiral for a while now.

You cannot solely have a service economy in place of a manufacturing economy. You cannot consume more then you country produces. And you cannot rely solely on money to solve your problems.
C'mon governors, get creative and think of other ways to fix your state besides raising taxes on the poor and asking the government for money. That is socialism after all.
