If anyone has ever bought tickets to pretty much any kind of event, they have dealt with the evilness that is Ticketmaster.
Well now evil Ticketmaster is merginig with equally as evil Live Nation. If we have learned anything from the financial crisis, its that you cannot trust ANY corporation, and we as citizens must find ways to find alternatives to buying or supporting anything they do.
I mean right now, as we speak, the Canadian government is suing Ticketmaster for seriously violating customers rights by making a profit off of scalped tickets, which is totally illegal. Click here to find out more about Ticketmasters evil, illegal ways.
Don't get me wrong, in our free-market capitialist-corporation run system, finding alternatives to mainstream products and services is extemeley hard.
Nevertheless, there are people hard at work trying to provide a fair alternative. Case in point, ShowClix.
ShowClix is, "...a Pittsburgh-based ticketing company and live events search engine, today introduced its newly established Fair Ticketing Fund, a multi-million dollar fund that will distribute money to venues and event promoters who want to operate independent of the company being created through the Ticketmaster/Live Nation merger."
Through the Fair Ticketing Fund ShowClix will give every participating venue or event promoter with tens of thousands of dollars in funding; a completely customizable, robust ticketing solution at no cost; and a significant reduction in service fees for their ticket buyers.
If you want to find out more about the Fair Ticketing Fund, Click here.
- While the Fair Ticketing Fund was established specifically for venues and promoters who are in Ticketmaster/Ticketweb contracts due to expire in 2009, anyone who wishes to be independent of Ticketmaster and Live Nation may be eligible to receive funding through the program. Contact your favorite venue and encourage them to participate in the Fair Ticketing Fund!

We as consumers have purchasing power, so don't support TicketMaster/LiveNation. Please let everyone you know, know!
