Pope goes to Africa and says condoms "are not the answer" in the fight against AIDS. With thinking like that, AIDS will win!

CTV News just reported that Pope Benedict XVI has just arrived in Cameroon to start a tour of Africa.

Now I have spent some time in Western Africa and one thing I noticed is that an overwhelming majority of the Africans I met are deeply religious. For that reason, I am even more outraged that the Pope has publicly stated that, "condoms were not the answer in the continent's fight against HIV."
His stupidity also stated, "The traditional teaching of the church has proven to be the only failsafe way to prevent the spread of HIV/Aids."

How could he do that? With all of his power, and the extensive research and evidence that states condoms do protect against the disease, why would he say that? Does he want more of God's people to die? And if God created Earth, and in turn created the disease, wouldn't God also create condoms to help combat the spread of the disease?

In a world that is constantly changing and modernizing, religion should modernize too. Religion should embrace the people that are in dire need of some guidence and give them sustainable solutions (like using condoms to prevent a disease that is destroying lives around the world).

Also, the pope is NOT a doctor, therefore he should not even comment on things like this.

Update, March 18th: France is condeming the Pope's statement against condom use. Other countries should follow suit and let the Pope know of their disapproval of his dire statements!
