Recently, people have been starting to re-think the whole, "America, land of opportunity" slogan. Who in particluar is doing this? Foreign skilled workers.
No longer can narrow-minded Americans say, "Foreign workers are taking all our [American] jobs!"
The reason for this? Ever since the Financial bailout many skilled foreign workers have decided to return to their home country to puruse a career guanteeing them benefits and a little bit of decency. These skilled workers now have options elsewhere therefore causing a reverse brain drain. Click here to find out more about reverse brain drain.
What is a skilled worker you say? In a nutshell it is a person who has a special expertise that will be valuable anywhere in the world. To find out more, click here.
America's increasingly hard visa program and slow return rates on getting visas in time have also played a small factor in foreigners desire to look outside the U.S.

Just a side note: "Despite the fact that immigrants constitute only 12% of the U.S. population, immigrants have started 52% of Silicon Valley's technology companies and contributed to more than 25% of our global patents. They make up 24% of the U.S. science and engineering workforce holding bachelor's degrees and 47% of science and engineering workers who have PhDs. Immigrants have co-founded firms such as Google (GOOG), Intel (INTC), eBay (EBAY), and Yahoo! (YHOO)".
We, as Americans, should not address this problem by blamming the ambitious immigrants that helped build the U.S. economy in the first place. We should address our education system (or lack there of) and figure out how America fell so far behind in the first place.
