Laura Bush dissapoints me...

WTF, Mrs. Bush?

I saw this clip of Laura Bush on Larry King promoting her new book or whatever where she clearly states that she is in favor of Gay marriage and abortion rights for women. Now, don't get me wrong I'm all for those things but why did the former first lady say absolutely nothing about these VERY IMPORTANT issues while she was in office?

Maybe because she thought it wasn't lady-like to steal the limelight from her oh-so-intelligent husband? I guess that's not how they do it in Texas but I like my women a little more mouthy if you know what I mean.

I find it utterly infuriating that in the 8 years in office where abortion rights for women were more threatened than ever before, she sat idly by and not only did nothing, she didn't say a damn thing about it either. In this short clip she talks as if by speaking her mind now she has completely absolved her self because even though she thought abortion was a woman's right, she let a bunch of stupid white men dictate what women should be able to do with their reproductive organs.

...And on don't even get me started on the topic of Gay marriage. While states legalized and then overturned gay marriages all over the country I didn't hear one single peep out of Laura Bush about it. I did, however, hear a bunch of belligerent conservative religious talk from her husband her his constituents about the sanctity of marriage and how Gays are ruining the world, blah blah blah.

Aren't you violating the good Samaritan law or something by not doing anything even though you knew that the Bush administration was dangerously close to abolishing Gay marriage and abortion rights?

I actually would have been more ok with Laura Bush being just as convicted as her husband in his stupid beliefs but the fact that she disagreed with her husband and yet her reigning legacy in office is reading picture books to kids? What a slap in the face to feminism. Way to set an example for young women everywhere; Even though you are the spouse of the most powerful figure head in the Western world just nod and smile and make him look less stupid, even if it means compromising your own intelligence and pride.

Like I previously mentioned, WTF?!?
