It's like the state has been taken hostage by Hollywood and Corporate America and everyone is too drugged out on TV, prescription pills and inadequate education to actually realize how bad it is.
I hate to say it but its bad....real bad. And there is not much we can do about it. But here is something you can do, you can VOTE.
I know, I know, its hard to pull away from the computer or TV for 5 sec. in order to fill out that voting card but you may not have a computer or TV anymore if you just sit back and let the vultures swoop in and take our great state away from us.
Too lazy to do your voter research? No problem! The CREDO action network has tone the tireless research for you and they are going to tell you what you certainly will NOT hear from ad campaigns, so please please please don't vote based on what you see on television.
Here is what Credo is saying about the legislation up for vote:
YES ON PROP. 15: Prop. 15 would clip the power of special interests in state elections. It would assess a fee on lobbyists and use the money to fund Secretary of State candidates who want to run without cash from corporations.
NO ON PROP. 16: PG&E is the sole sponsor of Prop. 16, which would require a two-thirds vote before a local government could sell electricity. It would benefit electric companies and cripple the movement by municipalities to offer green power to their residents in competition with PG&E.
NO ON PROP. 17: Mercury Insurance is the primary sponsor of Prop. 17, which would allow companies to squeeze higher rates from anyone who's had a lapse in auto-insurance coverage. It's a backdoor rate increase.
Now you understand why I told you not to listen to the expensive ad campaigns these corporations are sponsoring to try and get you to vote according to them. Please prove them wrong.
I also recommend voting early so you don't forget (hey it happens). Click here to check our with your county how to do so.
Credo is also nice enough to give out this information form you can take with you to the polls.
VOTE Dummies, its the absolute least you can do.
