Haven't seen a marionette show since I was a wee one, but this one was not bad.
The Railway Club was the perfect venue for the show and the puppet masters had a very interesting take on the Tragic Tale of Pierrot.
Many props go to Deet Street, who coordinates lively music and entertainment the first Monday of every month at the Railway. Definitely worth checking out, makes Mondays something to look forward to.
Ok, back to the show. I liked how everyone had their own interpretation of what happened, even those who were familiar with the tale. Considering there was no dialogue its hard to decipher emotion from plastic faces (talking about the puppets here), but I liked the puppeteers modern interpretation of the story. Plus they threw condoms out into the audience which highly encouraged people's participation and they all seemed happy to oblige.
This review is short, just like the puppet show, but this one is for the memory bank because who knows the next time I'll enjoy a show like this.
